A voucher campaign is a marketing strategy in which hotels make targeted use of vouchers to attract new guests to the hotel, retain existing guests, and thus increase their own bookings and revenue.
Voucher Campaigns in the Hotel Industry
Hotels can offer different types of vouchers, such as value, service or product vouchers. Vouchers can be advertised or communicated as a part of newsletters, through targeted social media communication or through search engine advertising (SEA).
Voucher campaigns can also be used, for example, through incentive vouchers in a pop-up on the hotel's website in exchange for the email address of the person concerned as part of lead generation. Furthermore, voucher campaigns can be used as part of rewards for the recommendation of the hotel by regular guests.
Advantages of Voucher Campaigns for Hotels
Voucher campaigns offer various advantages for hotels:
- The possibility to attract new guests for the hotel or new contact data from interested people.
- Strengthening the loyalty of existing guests, as vouchers latter an incentive to book again.
- Additional revenue and liquidity without a great deal of manual effort for the hotel: many vouchers are never redeemed. However, those guests who do redeem the vouchers very often make use of other hotel services. Vouchers therefore always have a positive effect on the hotel's business success.
